Influenza A(H1N1) cases in the Philippines
Here is a list of confirmed A(H1N1) cases in the country.
- A 10-year- old girl who arrived from the United States on May 18 was confirmed positive on May 21 (Thursday).
- A 50-year-old woman who arrived in the Philippines on May 20 from Chicago, United States was confirmed positive on May 24 (Sunday).
- A 30-year-old Taiwanese mother and her 5-year-old daughter who attended a wedding party in Zambales was confirmed positive only when they went back to Taiwan. They have not acquired the A (H1N1) influenza virus in the Philippines, as DOH clarified.
- 2 adults: 26-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man who attended a wedding party in Zambales, which was also attended by the Taiwanese mother and daughter was confirmed positive on May 27 (Wednesday).
- 2 children: one-year-old girl who arrived from the United States last May 19 and a 13-year-old boy who arrived from Hong Kong last May 23 was also confirmed positive on May 27 (Wednesday).
- 4 more people who attended the wedding party in Zambales, 24-year-old mother, her one-year-old daughter; a 47-year-old male and a 13-year-old male foreigner, was confirmed positive on May 28 (Thursday).
- 4 more cases; the first two are a two-year-old girl and a 20-year-old male who had contact with the Taiwanese mother and her daughter. May 29 (Friday).
- 2 adults: a 51-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, who both arrived in the United States on May 26 was confirmed positive on May 30 (Saturday).
After 16 confirmed cases, 7 were found negative after a second test. while 3 have already recovered from the viral infection and have been discharged.
- 5 more cases were reported. Two of which were infected at the wedding attended by the Taiwanese mother and daughter, while the other three were Filipinos who returned from the United States, confirmed on June 1 (Monday).
- A 21-year-old female foreign exchange student of De La Salle University (DLSU) who arrived in the country last May 12 was confirmed positive on June 3 (Wednesday).
As of June 3, we already have 22 total cases of A H1N1.
- 7 new cases reported: 2 Japanese students of DLSU and a 52-year-old ADB Filipina executive, who had returned from the United States on May 30 was confirmed positive on June 5 (Thursday). Others were unidentified.
- 4 new cases: A 17-year-old male student of DLSU who may have been infected by the two Japanese students, 2 siblings, a 9-year old and a 7 year-old, both females, who arrived in the country on June 3 and a 29-year-old female foreigner who arrived on June 1 was confirmed positive on June 5 (Friday).
- A student of Far Eastern University (FEU) was confirmed positive on June 6 (Saturday).

At least a hundred persons in our city have been infected with the H1N1 virus. I was very scared to get infected with this disease during the pandemic*,,
