Corazon Aquino’s burial on Aug 5, declared holiday
Former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino’s burial on August 5, 2009 was declared a special non-working holiday by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
This is to give the public a chance to observe the last few moments of the Philippine democracy icon Cory Aquino.
Aquino’s private funeral will be held at the Manila Memorial Park. The late president will be laid to rest beside her husband Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr.
Those who still want to view and pay their last respects to Cory Aquino’s remains were allowed since yesterday in La Salle Greenhills from 5 p.m. until tomorrow, Monday. The viewing proper is from 7 a.m. to 4 a.m. only of the next day.
