It’s Autumnal Equinox! Longer nights until December

The Autumnal Equinox started yesterday, September 23 (Wednesday), when the length of day and night are equal, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The Autumnal Equinox signals the end of the summer months and the beginning of winter. This is the time when the earth tilts upward on its axis, exposing the countries below the equator to more sun and those above it to less sun. After this point, nights will be longer than days and will continue to do so until December.
