Robin Padilla Expresses His Concern If Filipino Subjects Are Removed

Saturday, November 17, 2018

The issue of removing the Filipino subject in college curriculums here in the Philippines has been a hot topic for the last few days. Apparently, it is proposed that Filipino subject will be removed since the purpose of K-12 education is to eliminate the basic subjects during college.

Not everyone is happy about the decision of the Supreme Court, one of them is actor and known crusader of truth and injustice in social media, Robin Padilla.

Individuality

Padilla emphasized that the Filipino language is very important to be possessed by every Filipino because this is who we are as an individual. It is something that should be treasured and everyone should be proud of.

"Ang wika ay hindi lang basta wika ito ay ang iyong pagkatao. Ang ating sariling literature ay isang kayamanan."

Speaking multiple languages is ok

He also added that he is not against anyone who wishes to study and speak many languages. He even stated National Heroes Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio because they spoke several languages, but they never forgot to be proud of their own.

"Hindi ako laban na mag aral tayo ng ibang wika pero para maging alipin tayo ng dayuhan sa sarili kong bayan no f@!#$ way!"

"Hindi ako kontra na magaral ng ibang wika katulad ni Jose Rizal at Andres Binifacio pero hindi dahilan ito para patayin ang sariling atin,"

Read his post here:

@ricardopenson @omengq

Robin Padilla Explains Why He Doesn't Have Money To Give To Mariel Anymore

Friday, November 16, 2018

After the controversy that he got caught in with "Pilipinas Got Talent" and after his Facebook Page was brought down by Facebook for being "too loud", actor Robin Padilla still remains active in the show business industry.

The 48-year-old actor can be seen on the daytime television show "Sana Dalawa ang Puso" starred by Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria.

Nothing is forever

In an interview on social media, Padilla admittedly said that he may lose his fame sooner or later. He said it will come to light after the show that he is doing now, but he knows that it will come.

He also expressed his sentiments on the industry of show business. He said he had always known that the industry was not fair. According to him, he did everything he could to change it but it remains as it is, unfair.

“Hindi ko na priority talaga. Sa totoo lang, kasi ang showbiz kasi hindi siya… Isang sangay siya ng industriya na hindi siya fair. Kahit saan mo tingnan hindi siya fair. Yung oras ng trabaho, labor, hindi talaga. Isang bagay siyang conflict sa isang taong may gustong pagbabagong mangyari. Mahirap talaga ang showbiz. Kailangan din siyang baguhin somewhere.”

Selfless

On another note, Padilla also told the reporters why he sometimes has no money to give to Mariel, his wife. He recalls that when people ask for help, or when he sees injustice, he steps in and help. Even if he has no more left for himself.

But at the end of the day, Mariel understands him and is completely supportive.

“Wala tayong magagawa, may humihingi ng tulong. Alangan namang isipin mo pa yung take home pay mo. Kalokohan ‘yon.”

OFW In Saudi Warns The Public About Modus Operandi Regarding A Bundle Of Money

Friday, November 16, 2018

Everybody needs money. So when one finds a bundle of money lying on the ground, it is just normal that the first instinct is to pick it up, whether to return it or sometimes to keep it for one's self.

But one OFW from Saudi alerts the public for doing just that. He posted his experience in Facebook where he saw a bundle of money on the ground by the parking lot where he parked his car.

Thankfully, he did not pick up the money because of what happened next.

Modus Operandi

According to Suante Aguirre's post, when he parked his car one morning, he saw a bundle of money wrapped by a rubber band on the ground by his car.

According to him, he did not even think about picking it up, and he was glad he didn't. According to him, not long after he walked away from the car, two foreigners approached him and asked about the money.

They even threatened him that they will call the police if he did not show them his wallet. Agguire kept his mind clear and said that if they didn't stop what they were doing then he will call the police and report what they did.

After that, he saw the men walk back to the place where he saw the money and pick it up. For sure to look for the next victim.

Reminder

He used the post to remind the people especially his fellow OFW to be vigilant and not to fall victim to modus operandi like that.

"Hindi naman fair sa PNP 'yung mga ganyang portrayal," PNP Chief Albayalde Thinks Ang Pronsyano Is Disturbing

Thursday, November 15, 2018

The primetime TV series “Ang Probinsyano” which stars Coco Martin is currently the longest-running primetime series today. In the long years that it has been aired, it was able to portray real-life situations that made the series relatable to the viewers.

Fiction

However, it must also be remembered that the show is just fiction and most of the things portrayed is not happening in real life.

This is what Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde told the reporters on Wednesday. He pointed out the corruption that was portrayed in the series where the chief there tried to assassinate the president is unfair for the PNP, and that it can never happen here.

"Hindi naman fair sa PNP 'yung mga ganyang portrayal," he said. "Parang 'yung the chief PNP himself is a villain -- hindi naman po siguro kailanman nangyari sa amin."

"In reality, well, hindi puwedeng mangyari iyan."

Disturbing

The chief also called out the series for the disgusting way it has shed light on PNP and reminded that taking justice into one's own hands is against the law.

"We are a nation of laws, not of men," he insisted.

Response

As a response to Albayalde's concern, the management behind "Ang Probinsyano" issued a statement which reads:

"'FPJ's Ang Probinsyano' assures the Philippine National Police that the characters, places, and incidents in the program are purely fictitious as stated in the disclaimer aired at the start of the show every night. There is no intention to smear the reputation of any organization or portray any person in a negative light.

"The program has also portrayed its main character, Cardo, as a hardworking police officer dedicated to saving lives and serving his fellowmen. As in the past years, 'FPJAP' has highlighted that good shall always triumph over evil and has shared valuable lessons and family values that have resonated with viewers."

Pinoy Wows The Netizens With LDR Relationship With Lithuanian Girlfriend

Tuesday, November 13, 2018

It is widely known that having a long distance relationship is not easy. Most of the couples who attempted to brave the tides and stay strong while living in different faraway places end up giving up or losing communication.

Having said that, of course, we can’t generalize everyone. There are those who become happy and successful in keeping a relationship strong, even long-distance ones. When we see stories about them people can’t help but be happy for the couple also.

It started with a gamble

Through his YouTube channel, Eugene Galang, a Filipino shared his story on how he was able to withstand a long distance relationship with his girlfriend Viktorija Chaya Radaviciute, a Lithuanian citizen.

The video which garnered a half a million views showed how he sent her a message asking to be his friend. After that, they started video calling each other. Until after a year, they decided to meet.

The real deal

When they posted the video, a lot of people were happy but there are those who judged them and said that Eugene was just using her to be able to go to Europe.

However, in response to these kinds of comments, Viktorija explained that she was sure that Eugene’s intention is not about the money.

In fact, she shared that she saved up for the ticket but when it still was not enough, it was Eugene who sent him money to complete the amount.

When she reached the Philippines, her suitcase broke and Eugene bought her a new one.

She also shared how welcoming Eugene’s family was. She actually went to the Philippines with just 200 Euro or P12,000 pesos and came home to Europe with the whole 200 Euro still intact and a lot of pasalubong for her family from Eugene’s family.

Security Guards Who Dressed For Halloween Fined A Ridiculous Amount Instead Of The Mall

Monday, November 12, 2018

During Halloween, or any other season for that matter, establishments start their events and marketing strategies in attempt to get more customers to go to their malls and businesses.

A mall in Quezon City seem to have made a mistake with their marketing strategy last Halloween. To join and spread the Halloween vibe, the mall had their security guards dress up in costumes. This year, they chose to let their guards dress up as London Guards, complete with the red tunics and bearskins.

Not a smart decision

As a result, the Philippine National Police - Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) called out the mall for letting the guards wear costumes instead of uniforms.

According to the PNP-SOSIA Superintendent Jaime Santos, it is a protocol that security guards always wear their prescribed uniforms so that people can distinguish them if ever there is an emergency.

Fined

In a news report by News TV, it was said that the guards were being asked to pay a fine of 400,000 pesos for their violation.

Further through the report, it was explained that the costumes were not the sole reason of the 400k fine. A combination of fines including expired duty detail order and also the lack of license to exercise security profession.

This means this will not be the case for all, but for those with accumulated fines only.

Revolt

However, the netizens are not so happy about the news. Some of them are saying that the fine should be shouldered by the mall and not the security guards themselves. After all, these guards will not decide to not be in uniform by themselves. An authority figure ordered them to and they just followed.

And besides, as one commenter said, the security agency handling these guards surely did not ask them to wear costumes. So it will really just go down to the mall.

The Pope Just Announced That Filing For Annulment Will Be Free And Will Be Faster

Monday, November 12, 2018

The sacrament of marriage is a sacred vow that is undertaken by two people who promises to stand by each other through all the hardships and trials of life that will be thrown at them.

However, let’s face it. Not all marriages are strong enough to withstand problems and time. Due to different reasons, some couples choose to go their separate ways.

The right way

The proper way to go about a separation is to file an annulment on both the state and the church. Since these two are separate entities, two annulments are needed for a person to be completely free from their past spouse, or to marry again.

Before, only civil annulments are easy to apply for. Church annulments take years and sometimes even more than 6 years since the annulment should be approved by two tribunal court to make sure the couple is really better off without each other. Sometimes, the filing reaches Rome to get a decision from the Pope about the annulment.

For this reason, not all people are going through Church annulment.

The new way

In a letter announcement by Pope Francis, a good news for couples vying for annulment was made. Church annulment will now be free and faster. It won’t need to be approved by two tribunal courts and it won’t need to reach Rome for it to be approved.

Archbishop Emeritius Oscar Cruz of the National Appelate Matrimonial Tribunal, CBCP believes that what is important is the truth and what is needed. If the couple really is not fit to be together anymore, then there is no reason to prolong the annulment process.

Making the process faster can also give the annulment applicants a chance to move on with their lives faster and sooner.

However, the CBCP emphasizes that despite the faster processing, marriage is still considered a sacred vow that is not to be taken lightly.
